Abstract: The Study “Urban Rejuvenation through Property Redevelopment: Reusing Lands of Textile Mills under Liquuidaqation in Ahmedabad City” written by Barjor E. Mehta. A Study supported by the Gujarat Foundation for Development Alternatives. The aim of this study is to explore the possibilities of reusing the landholdings of fifteen closed textile mills which are currently under liquidation for productive uses and, in the process, not only generate enough resources so that workers and other creditors are paid their dues but also open up the possibilities of creating badly needed jobs at appropriate inner-city locations. This property redevelopment through what has been termed as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) strategy is explored. This is felt as the best possible option in a traditionally entrepreneurial city such as Ahmedabad.
