Collective Bargaining Practices in Textile and Non-Textile Industries in Coimbatore

Abstract

Study was undertaken by BR Patil, from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, on collective bargaining practices in the textile and non-textile industries in Coimbatore. The study includes chapters on the evolution of collective bargaining practices; procedures adopted by management and union in arriving at consultative decisions and the problems in collective bargaining; the use of tripartite methods to resolve industrial disputes; specific study of South India Mill Owners Association and collective bargaining.
