Abstract: It was in Moga that the inaugural session of the BKMU was held in 1968. And it was in Moga again that the Silver Jubilee session of the Punjab KMU was celebrated in in 1980. The Punjab organization since had grown tremendously. A reflection was the tremendous participation of the khet mazdoors from Punjab in the all India rally in 1979. It was the first time that such participation was seen. Ten thousand khet mazdoors from Punjab joined; the Ferozepur-Delhi rail service had to use two engines to ferry the demonstrators for the rally. In its inaugural session in Khan Khannan (Jullundar) in December 1954, its membership was merely 15920; now it was 1, 28, 902. The document describes the achievements and struggles since 1952.
