Born in 1949, in Patna, he got associated with communist politics in college days. Also got associated with the JP movement. Began trade union movement in Bokaro, by organising social events for the workers, such as picnics. Organised many important strikes in the BSP, such as the strike of 1986, 87, on issues such as canteen alloance, bonus and other issues.en_US
