dc.description.abstractInterview of A.K. Ahmad; senior most trade union leader in Bokaro Steel Plant Trade Union. Born in Gaya in 1939, he did ITI training in a polytechnic in Dhanbad. In 1960, joined a Coal Washery Construction at Bhujudi in Dhanbad, under British ownership. Joined the Patel Engineering Company in 1961, and began his first union activism for better wages. Went on to join many other plants, and organised workers throughout the entire region.en_US
