Title: AITUC of Railway Worker's - Urdu Document

Abstract: The file consists of circulars ranging from urgent to provisional of March 1950. The unions were the GIP workers and railway station union and refers to ongoing strikes and protests with calls for greater national-level unity. There were detailed discussions about how the conditions of railway workers were not different from those of other sectors-central government employees; PWD workers. There were demands for hartal committees to be established along with discussion over the success of the strikes held so far and challenges that come in the way of organizing workers’ unity. There were also references to the Telengana struggle of the workers that were indicative of the challenges in the way of organizing workers’ strikes. Among possible solutions for the ongoing problems were the suggestion to hold a peace week during the weeks of April and May 1950. There was also mention of international solidarity with France and Holland’s unions and federations.
