dc.description.abstract	Interview of Sanat Mehta, trade union leader, and former member of Parliament, from Gujarat. Participated in the Quit India movement, when still a student. Undet the influence of Ashok Mehta, began organising workers in Bombay. He was instrumental in organising the historical sweepers strike in Bhavnagar in 1948-49. Also got involved with the Textile Labour Association, Sarabhai Chemicals, Baroda Labour Education Trust and others. He was also the Union Labour Minister, and amended the Bombay Industrial Relations Act in favour of the workers.	en_US
