The President of the Garment and Allied Garments Union informed the director of the fire at Maharani factory which injured two workers.
The letter explains how the fire broke out at night when two workers of the washing department were working over time. The management instead of offering compensation instructed workers to stay on leave the next day. The union demanded investigation and compensation to the workers and proper implementation of safety rules at the factory.
