Abstract: A woman worker was sexually harassed and Karnataka Garment Workers Union represented the dispute. Evidence of hospital bills, minutes of union's meetings, emails to report attempts to force workers to sign blank papers. Proceeding for bail application, emails between union and management over attempts to coerce and forcefully withdraw the complaint. Additionally, letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Police and draft settlement of the dispute.
Description: Manager was put under suspension during the enquiry. 500 women workers supported the protest for solidarity and justice. The bail application was denied by the civil court to avoid the threats to the witnesses. In the draft settlement the composition and transparency of the ICC was stated along with reinstatement workers who were forced to resign and proposals for future meetings to address such issues and ensure healthy workplace relations.
