dc.description.abstract Interview of Shivaji Patnaik, leader, CITU, at Railways in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa. Born in 1921, he was recruited as a volunteer in the 1945-46 Praja Mandal movement, when still a student. Also involved in the movement of All India Railwaymen's Federation, led by Jay Prakash Narayan. Began working with railways from 1949 onwards. Also organised Orissa Textile Mill workers and organised a 45 day strike in 1961. en_US
