dc.description.abstract Interview of Malini Tulpule, veteran trade union leader. Born in Gujarat, and influenced by Gandhi and the national movement. Began working with the All India Women's Congress, and later organised sugar and bidi workers in Pune and Ahmednagar. She also organised peasants against illegal taxes in Ahmednagar. She left CPI in 1982 and joined UCPI, but didn't disaffiliate the unions from AITUC en_US
