Interview of K.T.K. Thangamani, veteran trade unionist. Born in England, he came in contact with communist movement there. Also studied and travelled to Malaya and Singapore and contacted Indian labour organisers there. After independence, came back to Madurai, India and began organising transport and other workers. Arrested in 1948 for organising a big violent strike of transport workers. After release in 1952, organised port and dock and textile workers
