Abstract:
Interview and profile of K Vaidyanathan, leader, CITU, Tamil Nadu. Vaidyanathan joined the army during the Second World War and after the war, joined a school. In Pune, he used to visit Gandhi's prayer meetings, which helped him formulate his political ideas later. He was attracted towards communism in the 1946-48 period and joined commercial clerks' union in 1948. He was also active among textile workers. In late 1960s he finally joined the CPI-M and since then has been in the top state level leadership of CITU. Interviewed on March 15, 2005.
