Abstract:
Interview and profile of Mayandi Bharti, freedom fighter and union leader associated with INTUC and AITUC, Tamilnadu. Bharti was from a rich family who owned large estates and a cinema hall in Madurai. He participated in the Civil Disobidience Movement of 1930, Quit India of 1942 and was an active Congress activist. His trade unionism began in 1940, when he started working among the workers of the RV Mills.
