dc.description.abstract Interview of Gurucharan Patnaik, leader, AITUC, Orissa. Born in 1917, he joined Congress in 1930. Imprisoned repeatedly, because of participation in the national movement. Joined communist party later. Organised and registered a union of press workers in Cuttack, the first one ever, in the country, among the press workers. Organised Durga Glass workers, along with press, post, telegraph, railway and others. Also participated in the liberation struggle of the princely states. en_US
