dc.description.abstract Interview and profile of Ch Gandhi, Railwayman and leader of HMS, participant of the 1974 strike. He studied till class XII and got a diploma in pharmacy. Joined railways as a pharmacist in 1968. Initially he was with INTUC, but when he came to know about its political affiliation, he joined HMS, just after the 1974 railway strike. He has led many strikes and agitations of the railway workers, the recent one being in 2004, where 6,000 workers came and organised demonstrations. He belongs to a family of freedom fighters. en_US
