dc.description.abstract Interview of Dyuti Krishna Panda, President, AITUC, Orissa. Born in a rich peasant family in 1923, he began politics from the student and cultural front. Participated in the anti-Union Jack movement of 1945. Began organising workers from 1947 onwards, including fishermen, weavers, rice mill workers, sugarcane workers and others. He was involved in the 1949 railway strike as well. en_US
