dc.description.abstract Interview of Chaudhry Raghubir Singh, General Secretary of Haryana State Trade Union Committee. Born in 1926, he was involved in relief work for victims of communal violence in 1947, when he still in college. Got influenced by communism after accidently interacting with a cycle repair wallah. In the meanwhile, he contested Panchayat elections in Panipat, and participated in strike of Panipat workers for rise in wages. Also organised women workers in the textile industries in panipat. He has been fighting against the contract system in Panipat, which has been on rise since 1970s. Also worked for elimination of child labour. en_US
