dc.description.abstract Interview and profile of Ch. Raghavendra Rao, leader, Contract Labour Union, Andhra Pradesh AITUC. Born in 1955, he comes from a family of CPI wholetimers. Joined Hindustan Zinc in 1978 and joined union activities immediately. The company was later taken over by the Sterlite Group and in 2000, the new company gave compulsory retirement to 176 workers, including Mr. Rao. en_US
