Participated in Quit India movement and got influenced by the Praja Lok Mandal. Began working with Sweepers. A Harijan union was formed in 1946 and organised nine successful strikes at that time, for grade, salary, DA etc. Also organised postal workers, stone querry workers and others. en_US
